Smart Textile Design
This research-based lab/seminar is a pioneering multi-disciplinary independent study to foster a critical and analytical viewpoint of the nature and context of smart textile design. In this lab/seminar a team of students will investigate innovative smart textile design, and create artwork integrating new textiles through process-led research. Case studies in the textile industry and in contemporary art will be investigated.
Models of Research and Development (R&D) in textile and product design will be examined. The body-interface and responsive textiles concept will be contextualized by providing in-depth critical readings and discussions.
